2009 Holiday Parade

parade.jpg

Once again this year CWI participated in the Holiday Parade in South Glens Falls. It was the 30th installment of the parade which was originally started by the Joy Discount Department Store and the parade has grown ever since. This year Glens Falls National Bank and Trust Company sponsored the parade.  The theme of this year’s parade was “Family Traditions.” In keeping with the theme CWI’s float was “The Tradition of Giving Back.” Robin Harrison, consumer facilitator at Schroon River Day Services came up with the theme. One half of the float was a scene of an older person receiving a food basket. The scene on the other half of the float was of a community dinner.  Designing and building a winning float takes time, talent and a lot of hard work by many individuals. Thanks to the staff and members of the following day service programs and residential programs for their contributions: Schroon River, Expressions, Journeys, Generations, Midtown, East End, Quaker West, Destinations, Whipple City, Greenbridge, Helping Hands, Mount Royal, Men of Moreau IRA and Hoyt IRA. Special thanks to Bus Mechanics Jesse Fuller and Russell Rist, Building Assistant Mark Deyette, Confidential Secretary Patty Cardinal, Don and Trudi Smith and their son Charles, Communication Specialist Gary Holmquist, Consumer Assistant Janice Norman and her son Joey, Vice President Deb Rowell and President Tim Place.

Speaking of tradition, CWI’s float again took first place in the Business Division!
