Residential Manager

TYPE OF EMPLOYMENT:    Permanent, Full Time, Exempt

POSITION CONCEPT:    The Residential Manager reports to the Division Director of Residential Services or Program Coordinator Designee, Vice President/COO & President/CEO.   The position concept dictates that the Residential Manager will be responsible for day-to-day operations of one or more Individualized Residential Alternatives (IRAs) including ensuring consumers receive quality care via the planning and delivery of individual services. A Residential Manager will have primary responsibility for at least one IRA, including Habilitation Plan development/ implementation and associated progress documentation, and additional support responsibilities to the residential division as a whole.                                     

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:  A Bachelors Degree in Human Services or related field or RN, and two years experience working with the developmentally disabled population, one year of which must have been in a supervisory capacity. Must be capable of handling all position responsibilities outlined in the job description, including leadership role, scheduling, problem solving, direct care, and accountability for quality service provisions.  Must also have acceptable driving record.

Day Services Manager


LOCATION:  Queensbury & Granville (2 Sites)

TYPE OF EMPLOYMENT:   Regular, Full Time, 40 hours, Exempt

SCHEDULE:  Monday through Friday; 7:30A - 4:30P

POSITION CONCEPT: The Day Services Manager will be responsible for the operation and hands-on delivery of services delivered in the Day Habilitation Program.  The Day Services Manager will be a Qualified Intellectual Disabilities Professional .MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:  A person with a BA/BS in a field of education, social work, psychology, rehabilitation or related human services field from an accredited program, RN or who holds permanent certification from the New York State Department of Education. One year working with the developmentally disabled. Also requires supervisory experience and valid/ insurable driver license.  Must be capable of handling all the position responsibilities outlined in the job description.

Employment Counselor

LOCATION: Glens Falls with Travel

TYPE OF EMPLOYMENT: Regular, Part-Time 35 hours/wk

TYPICAL SCHEDULE: Monday through Friday; 8:30am-4:30pm

SALARY/WAGE: $16.60/hr
POSITION CONCEPT: To implement all placement activities for all applicants for Competitive Edge as assigned. The Employment Counselor will have direct responsibility and input into the placement program.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelors Degree in Psychology, Human Services or related field. Demonstrated expertise working in career/vocational counseling role, with experience in job development preferred. Must have strong interpersonal skills and the ability to sell a product or service. Must have valid NYS driver’s license acceptable to Agency insurance standards.

Consumer Facilitator

TYPE OF EMPLOYMENT:           Part Time, Benefitted, 25 hrs/wk

SCHEDULE:    Monday through Friday, to be determined

LOCATION:  Queensbury, initial assignment

SALARY:        $16.21/hr

POSITION CONCEPT:  The Consumer Facilitator will be responsible for individualized services delivered by the Day Program.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:  A Bachelors Degree in Human Services, Special Education or related field, with one year of experience working with the developmentally disabled. 

Consumer Assistant 


Part Time, 30 hrs/wk, Whipple

Part Time, 30 hrs/wk, Community Helpers

Part Time, 35 hrs/wk, Generations  

Part Time, 27.5 hrs/wk, Quaker Road 

Part Time, 25 hrs/wk, Helping Hands 

SALARY:                    $13.30/hour

POSITION CONCEPT:   The Consumer Assistant I will assist the Consumer Specialist, Consumer Facilitator, and the Director in the programming and supervision of the program participants. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:       Consumer Assistant I must have a High School Diploma or equivalent, good character and background, and a valid drivers license.  Must have an affinity for working with individuals with developmental disabilities, and be capable of handling all position responsibilities as outlined.  Demonstrated competency in First Aid, CPR, medication administration, and safety procedures considered a plus.

The position of Residential Assistant requires HS Diploma,GED or Valid CNA and NYS drivers license acceptable to Agency insurance standards. Must be of good character and background, and display an affinity for working with people with disabilities. Base Salary $13.36/hr, 2nd Shift & 3rd Shift Differentials applied or $10.45/hr (Per Diem Residential Relief Assistant)
